A response under the sign of irony. From New York to Los Angeles, some seven million Americans mobilized this Saturday, October 18, to mark their opposition to Donald Trump during a day under the slogan: “No Kings”. The demonstrators took to the streets to denounce what they describe as “authoritarian takeover” of the 47th President of the United States and his relatives. “They are destroying democracy”for example said a high school student interviewed by AFP.
Donald Trump sent them a message… in his own way. On his Truth Social network, the Republican leader broadcast a series of videos generated by artificial intelligence showing him in the guise of a king, crown screwed on his head. In one of them, he is seen at the controls of a fighter plane dropping what appears to be excrement on demonstrators. A staging illustrating both the contempt he has for them and the strategy popularized by Steve Bannon: “Flood the area with shit. »
🚨 OMG…the President of the United States just posted himself piloting a fighter jet with “KING TRUMP” on the side and dumping mud all over Harry Sisson and No Kings protestors
To the song “Danger Zone”

This day of mobilization against Donald Trump occurred in the midst of the budgetary paralysis of the federal state linked to the shutdown and in a context marked by the deployment of soldiers in several Democratic strongholds to fight against illegal immigration. Several gatherings were helds in cities where the National Guard was sent, such as Chicago or Los Angeles.
Several figures from the American left, including Bernie Sanders and the leader of the Democratic senators Chuck Schumer, took part in the processions. “We have a president who always wants more power in his hands and in those of his oligarch acolytes”declared Bernie Sanders in front of the Capitol in Washington.
