The head of the Spanish government Pedro Sanchez affirmed that “violence is never the answer”while the head of European diplomacy Kaja Kallas recalled that “political violence has no place in a democracy”.
Relief also dominates the reactions of many leaders around the world, such as Benjamin Netanyahu, Narendra Modi (India), Claudia Sheinbaum (Mexico) and Mark Carney (Canada). The Israeli Prime Minister addressed his “wishes for a speedy and complete recovery to the injured police officer” and greeted “the American secret services for their rapid and decisive action”.
In Italy, Giorgia Meloni warned against any violent drift: “Fanaticism should not be allowed to poison the places of free debate and information.” And to add : “The defense of the civilization of dialogue must remain the impenetrable barrier against any intolerant drift, for the safeguarding of the values on which our nations are based. »
