Emmanuel Macron will go this Tuesday, February 4 on the sites of the Paris-Saclay Cancer Cluster and the Gustave Roussy Institute in Villejuif (Val-de-Marne), alongside his wife Brigitte. This trip is organized upstream of the summit for action on artificial intelligence, which will be held on February 10 and 11.
The objective of the Gustave Roussy Institute is to create bioclusters associating research, care and businesses. Artificial intelligence will play a large place as part of several medical research projects. Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron will visit “An innovative clinical research platform and will participate in the first stone laying ceremony of a building dedicated to medical and scientific innovation in cancerology”.
2 – Back to France by Serge Atlaoui
The French welder Serge Atlaoui will return to France this Tuesday, February 4. Father of four, he has been detained in Indonesia since 2007. He had been sentenced to death for drug trafficking. On Friday, January 24, an agreement was reached with the Indonesian minister in charge of legal affairs and human rights, Yusril Ihza Mahendra.
Serge Atlaoui had been arrested in 2005 in a factory where drugs had been discovered, in the suburbs of Jakarta. He had always tried to be a drug trafficker. It should have been executed in 2015, but benefited from a stay after France intensified pressure on the Indonesian authorities.
3 – First edition of the Cyber -Ia Expo show in Paris
The first edition of the Cyber-Ia Expo show will start this Tuesday, February 4 at the Palais des Congrès, in Paris on Tuesday. This event will bring together experts and businesses around two themes: artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. On the program: practical workshops, learning demonstrations to prevent cyber attacks and round tables on the ethical and regulatory challenges of AI.
The Minister Delegate responsible for artificial and digital intelligence, Clara Chappaz, will be present.
4 – 80th anniversary of the Yalta conference
On February 4, 2025 will mark the 80th anniversary at the start of the Yalta conference, which brought together in 1945 Winston Churchill, Joseph Staline and Franklin Roosevelt in Crimea to deal with the issues raised by the inevitable defeat of the Germans. The three leaders had managed to agree on how to divide Germany: in four occupation zones.
This conference also led to the decision to share Berlin in four sectors. Roosevelt managed to obtain from Stalin the entry into war of the USSR against Japan and also succeeded in bringing in the United Nations (UN) project of organization (UN), which will see the light of day two months later, in April 1945.
5 – The good news of the day
