War in Gaza: Trump orchestrates a discreet but decisive meeting with Muslim countries

This meeting went almost unnoticed. Far from the great speeches on the recognition of the Palestinian State, the American president organized on September 23 a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the emir of Qatar Tamim Ben Hamad Al Thani, the Indonesian Head of State Prabowo Subbowo, the Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Jordanian Sovereign Abdallah II, Mostafa Madbouly as well as the heads of Saudi and Emirian diplomacy.

Just after this meeting which lasted about an hour, the tenant of the White House told the press : “It is my most important meeting, and it is the one that counts most for me, because it will allow us to put an end to something that may never have started”. Donald Trump also congratulated the Indonesian president for his position with regard to the security of the Hebrew state. The world’s largest Muslim country has considered the recognition of Israel for the first time, conditioned on the existence of a Palestinian state. American emissary Steve Witkoff was satisfied with an inch raised to respond to journalists.

A “very fruitful” meeting according to Erdogan

During the discussions, the American president notably recalled the importance of the release of the 48 hostages remaining in the Gazaouie enclave and the need to end this conflict. The Emir of Qatar said: “We are counting on Trump’s leadership to end the war and help the Gaza population”. President Erdogan himself welcomed a meeting “Very fruitful”, even saying ” satisfied “ Results, without however delivering details.

The colonization of the West Bank is a red line for the Arab and Muslim countries

According to the American site Axios, Donald Trump presented a peace plan in the Gaza Strip and a solution to rule on the governance of the Palestinian territory, completely disarming Hamas. This plan, partly thought out with the help of the Boston Consulting Group and the Tony Blair Institute, provides for a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and the deployment of an Arab-Muslim contingent to pacify the Gazaouie enclave, as well as a reconstruction program for several tens of billions of dollars, all under American supervision. This project, entitled Great Trust, means no more or less than “Gaza Reconstitution Economic Acceleration Transformation” – “reconstruction, acceleration and economic transformation of Gaza”.

Netanyahou back in the White House

The proposal of the former British Prime Minister also provides for the creation of an international transitional authority in Gaza (GITA), as well as the establishment of a series of subordinate structures. In addition to the total reconstruction of this territory, with financial and food aid, the Gazaouis would be encouraged to leave Gaza but would have the assurance of a right to return after the work.

Attached to the solution of two states, the Arab and Muslim countries warned that the West Bank was a red line, asking the Trump administration to put pressure on the Israeli authorities to avoid the colonization of the Palestinian territories. Benyamin Netanyahu had recently promised to continue “Jewish locations in Judea and Samaria”. Despite the divergent positions on the Palestinian issue, Donald Trump has managed to bring together several countries to try to tear a cease-fire. He must also receive the Israeli Prime Minister at the White House on September 29.
