Alex Bruesewitz. I am no longer part of his administration, but I continue to support Donald Trump from the outside. My company runs several of its affiliate accounts, including the “Team Trump” TikTok, followed by over twelve million people. We also take care of Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). I helped develop his digital strategy: podcasts, targeting young voters, viral campaigns… Today, I also organize meetings between the president and celebrities such as footballers or actors in order to broaden his cultural aura. Last year, for example, I took player Saquon Barkley who won the Super Bowl last year and actor Vince Vaughn to the Oval Office. These moments become powerful sequences on the networks.
Artificial intelligence is taking a growing place in political communication. How do you use it?
Donald Trump wants the United States to lead the global AI race — and, above all, to beat China. We sometimes use it in a playful way. A viral video recently showed Trump wearing a crown on the balcony of the White House, in an ironic nod to progressive activists who shouted “No kings!” “. Result: thirty million views.
There is a difference between using AI for fun and using it to deceive. Creating quotes or invented remarks would be dangerous, but twisting an image for humor is something else. AI is also useful for writing or checking content, but I rarely use it personally: the main thing remains human instinct and creativity.
What place does humor occupy in your strategy?
Humor is the most effective weapon. My friend Charlie Kirk said: “Be a joyful warrior. » The left is always angry, it exudes frustration. We must be happy, ironic, confident. Posting an image that enrages our opponents is almost too easy. But it entertains our camp, creates cohesion. And Donald Trump himself? I’ve never seen him angry. Never. He may be outraged by what is happening to the country, but personally, he remains calm, solid, always positive. It’s an impressive force.
Does Trump have viral power online? What makes it so effective?
Trump is a cheat code social networks. Just post his photo and it goes viral. It’s universal: even in France, it is immediately recognizable. I talked about it with him. He told me: “I’m not the most famous. » I answered him: “So who?” » And he smiled: “Jesus. » I told him: “Okay, you’re second.” » Every month, our publications exceed those of Democrats by several hundred million views. And we spend almost nothing. What makes the difference is authenticity: when Trump posts on Truth Social, it’s him. Not a team of communicators.
“After the failed attack on Trump, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson called him to salute his courage”
Where is the question of Tiktok in the United States?
I have always opposed its ban. When the New York Times revealed that Trump was three times more popular than Biden, suddenly the Democrats wanted to ban the platform… Pure coincidence. TikTok is now an essential tool that speaks to young people and helps small businesses. Some of our videos reach 180 million views without a dollar spent. It’s a space of creativity, of energy, and Trump is adored there. For now, the platform is saved and that’s good.
We have recently observed an evolution in the world of American entertainment. Celebrities who were once very critical of Trump seem less hostile, like Nicki Minaj this week. Is the wind turning?
Yes, clearly. In 2016 and 2020, Hollywood was locked down by Democrats. Today it’s different. Figures like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who supported Joe Biden, have distanced themselves. After the failed attack on Trump, The Rock even called him to salute his courage. As for Sydney Sweeney who refuses to apologize for the American Eagle ad or Nicki Minaj, they have not become Republicans, but they now dare to refuse ideological dictates. Nicki Minaj didn’t say anything pro-Trump, she simply denounced the massacres of Christians in Nigeria. However, the left was unleashed on her. This shows how much the lines are shifting: Hollywood is no longer so homogeneous.
You mentioned Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA. What trace does he leave two months after his assassination?
Charlie was a friend, a brother. I truly believe that America has lost a future president. His influence on conservative youth was immense. We had been friends since I was sixteen. His death was a global shock: students cried in France, Germany, South Korea. Its movement is now global. And I think he will have even more impact after his death. He reminds us that our fight goes beyond politics: it is a spiritual battle, a choice to make between light and chaos. Charlie embodied this joyful faith. His legacy compels us to never let our guard down.
What is your view on the election of Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York?
Mamdani perfectly illustrates the demagogic drift of a certain radical left: incapable of keeping his promises, he exploits the distress of young people crushed by debt and without job prospects. Rather than creating opportunities, his policies risk destroying more. His promise of an “all free” world appeals to the disillusioned, but leaves working-class voters cold, who have largely disavowed him.
