School: a conference on the expectations of the French

The Foundation for Schools, committed to the development of free establishments outside of contracts, is organizing a conference on Monday May 4, at the Palais du Luxembourg (Paris), devoted to the expectations of the French in terms of education. One year before the presidential election, the initiative aims to fuel public debate using previously unpublished opinion data. On this occasion, a survey carried out by Ifop for the foundation, entitled “What do the French want for school?” », will be unveiled under the patronage of Senator Max Brisson.

Jérôme Fourquet will present the main lessons, before a round table moderated by the Tangwall Campagin journalist Aziliz Le Corre. The discussions will focus in particular on the strengthening of authority, the impact of artificial intelligence on fundamental learning, educational equity, support for disabilities, freedom of choice for families, as well as the diversification of establishment models. According to the foundation, France today has 2,105 free schools outside of contracts, enrolling nearly 130,000 students, or 4.4% of schools. E.C.

Rave Party: 30,000 “revelers” expected in the Cher

As of this Saturday, the Cher prefecture regretted the presence of 20,000 people gathered for a rave party, on military land although described as “very dangerous” by the potential presence of unexploded ordnance. Thirty thousand are expected, coming from all over Europe, by the organizers who explained that they wanted to protest against a proposed law aimed at “strengthen the penalization of rave parties” undeclared or prohibited. A text presented by Horizons MP Laetitia Saint-Paul and adopted at first reading in the National Assembly on April 9 provides for a penalty of six months’ imprisonment and a fine of 30,000 euros to punish “the fact of contributing directly or indirectly to the preparation, implementation or smooth running” of an undeclared or prohibited rave party. Currently, the organizers are exposed to sanctions, but there is no sanction for participation. Despite the illegal nature of the demonstration, the State finds itself forced to supervise it: the prefecture has set up a relief system, in addition to the 350 gendarmes deployed on the ground. Students: a one-euro meal for everyone

Illustrative photography.

From May 4, the 1 euro meal (instead of 3.30 euros) will be accessible to all students in the Crous restaurants. This offer, previously reserved for scholarship holders and non-scholarship students in precarious situations, will now be extended to all students, apprentices, work-study students, doctoral students and civic service volunteers upon presentation of their Izly account (Crous contactless payment service). Only one reduced-rate meal will be authorized per service, at lunch and dinner. The 1 euro meal consists of a main course and, at most, two “peripherals” (starter, cheese, dessert, fruit, etc.). Nearly 3 million students could now benefit, compared to 662,000 previously. University restaurants are preparing to absorb increased attendance even though many of them are already under pressure. A drop in attendance is nevertheless expected in May, a traditionally slower period due to revisions and exams. E. c.

European Union: nnew constraints for amateur fishermen

Since last February, as part of new European regulations, recreational sea fishermen must all register every 12 months on the Recfisching website, and “declare their capture every day » fish such as mackerel, sea bass, pollack or red sea bream. Obligations which aim to “ guarantee better knowledge of the population of recreational fishermen and their catch of so-called sensitive species », Indicates the ministry responsible for the sea and fisheries. The boater therefore no longer has the right to bring more than 10 mackerel to the dock per day and is logically prohibited from selling them.

“We would like to prevent recreational fishing which we would not do better », thunders one of them. Heard everywhere on the pontoons, this criticism is echoed by the National Federation of Yachting and Sea Fishing – 30,000 members – for whom recreational fishermen, who land on average only 10 kilos per year, all species combined, are far from plundering wild fish stocks.
