Donald Trump will he emerge from the ambiguity and strike at the heart of the Revolutionary Guards? Only a significant weakening of this ideological army would allow the Iranians to hope for a real transition. But it is not certain that targeting the Pasdaran installations will be enough to overthrow the regime, as its Praetorian Guard has infiltrated every interstice of society. Often documented, this paramilitary organization nevertheless remains largely unknown. Protectors of the Islamic Republic ofIranthe Revolutionary Guards are the armed and bloody arm of the Supreme Guide. Their mission is to relentlessly hunt down anyone who deviates from the fundamentalist line. But behind the ultra-religious screen lies above all an endless appetite for power and money.
In forty years, the guardians of hell have methodically raided everything and succeeded in taking over all of the country’s strategic posts. Their method, modeled on that of the oligarchs of the worst dictatorships, consists of bullying, humiliating and breaking to steal everything. From the poorly fitted veil to foreigners accused of espionage, the thugs of the Islamic revolution are everywhere, like shadows sneaking night and day into homes and bedrooms. Their interrogations are based on a widely proven method aimed at dehumanizing and decivilizing the adversary with the aim of returning them to the state of an animal. Thirsty for violence but above all greedy for money, they were offered the keys to the reconstruction of the country by guide Ali Khamenei after the Iran-Iraq war.
Iranian economy under paramilitary influence
The gargantuan procurement raid went hand in hand with a tyrannical escalation like no other. Health, commerce, tourism, media: everything is under their control. In Tehran, Isfahan, Mashhad, Tabriz or Shiraz, they invade the daily lives of Iranians. Feared and ultra-rich, they will become even more so after Western sanctions in reaction to the country’s uranium enrichment and conversion program. What was commonly called the international community has, indirectly but strongly, contributed to growing the assets of the Revolutionary Guards who thus took advantage of the economic blackout to multiply their lucrative businesses in total opacity.
“They have become the undisputed masters of the country”
The parenthesis, described as “reforming” in 2015, will be short-lived. Iran is “back on the international scene”headline several French media. Except that behind the facade of rapprochement with the West, the Pasdarans are working to derail everything by increasing the number of hostage-takings of binational citizens during this same period. Hostage diplomacy will be a win-win for the guards. Playing on the emotions of families, they act in a perverse and methodical way, always, to break the adversary. Bathing in an ocean of corruption and monopolizing gas and oil reserves, they have become the undisputed masters of the country.
The anger of the people, systematically drowned in blood
A true state within a state. Meanwhile, under the weight of poverty and the veil that annihilates everything, the Iranians are suffocating and making it known. But each time anger manages to overflow into the streets, starting in a stream and ending in a powerful river carrying years of frustration and bullying, it is immediately repressed bloodily to break any protest momentum.
What will happen this time? Since 1979, Iran has been at the center of the world. Iran scares, Iran fascinates, Iran intrigues, and Iran remains largely misunderstood. It is the story of a nation that has never stopped searching for its path between religion and revolution. From the shah to mullahs. From the most modern court, without masking its repressive side, to the darkest and archaic fundamentalism. From Persia to Iran. From Cyrus to Alexander. The Achaemenid Empire was the largest in Antiquity. For all these reasons, this great people with exemplary courage must finally be able to choose their destiny and put an end to the guardians of hell.
