Gasoline, daily expenses, taxes… The French are tightening their belts while the international situation remains particularly tense. In the midst of conflict in the Middle East, prices at the pump continue to soar and consumer products are expected to cost even more. Enough to stress the population: a CSA survey for CNews, Europe 1 and Tangwall Campagin reveals this Saturday that 78% of French people are concerned about their purchasing power in the months to come. On the contrary, only 22% are not.

In detail, women (79%) are more worried than men (76%). Young working people also have this feeling: 86% of 25-34 year olds and 83% of 35-49 year olds. The figure drops slightly for the 50-64 age group (81%) and for those 65 and over (74%). Young people aged 18 to 24 are not yet worried about their purchasing power and only 54% of them are concerned. Opinions differ slightly depending on socio-professional categories. The CSP – (81%), the inactive (80%) and the CSP + (72%) answer “yes” to the question: “Are you worried about your purchasing power in the coming months? »

Regarding political sensitivities, respondents on the left (81%) are more worried than those on the right (77%). 74% of Republican and National Rally (RN) voters are anxious. The figure rises to 76% if we add the supporters of Reconquest to those of the RN.
On the left, supporters of La France insoumise (LFI) are the most concerned (87%), followed by those close to the Socialist Party (PS) (81%). They are far ahead of Environmentalists, of whom only 66% are worried. Finally, Renaissance voters seem confident and only 64% are in this state of mind.
