Washington toughens its tone against Europe. The White House published its new anti-terrorism strategy this Wednesday, reports AFP. A document which marks a clear break with the Biden administration. The text, supported by Donald Trump’s entourage, now designates the old continent as a “incubator of terrorist threats” and targets three categories as a priority: “narcoterrorists and international gangs”THE “historical Islamist terrorists” and the “violent left-wing extremists, including anarchists and anti-fascists”.
Unlike Joe Biden, who considered white supremacist groups a major threat, the Trump administration primarily accuses European migration policies of promoting insecurity. “It is obvious to all that well-organized hostile groups are exploiting open borders and the globalist ideals associated with them”states the document. “As the cradle of Western culture and values, Europe must act now and end its stubborn decline,” he continues.
Monitor anti-American groups
These conclusions are a continuation of the “national security strategy” published in December 2025, already very critical of Europe. The publication further confirms the American desire to continue operations against drug trafficking throughout the American continent. The document highlights in particular the strikes carried out against boats suspected of transporting narcotics, as well as the spectacular capture, in January, of former Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
Finally, the Trump administration announces that it wants to intensify surveillance of groups deemed anti-American. “In addition to cartels and Islamist terrorist groups, our domestic counterterrorism activities will also have a priority to quickly identify and neutralize violent political groups, whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender and anarchist”affirm the authors of the text. These promise to use “all the tools” legal to identify their members and their possible links with organizations like the antifa movement, which Donald Trump described last year as“foreign terrorist organization”.
